Shri Govindbhai Patel, Chief Guest and Hon'ble Minister for State (Agriculture and Water resources, Forest and Environment), Gujarat appreciated scientists for their painstaking efforts to bring the agriculture at present state. He also pointed out towards challenges of future due to increasing population and decreasing land holdings. Shri Govindbhai Patel awarded Best Teacher Awards for the year 2012-13 to four teachers of JAU, namely Dr D. K. Varu (Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, JAU, Junagadh), Dr. L. F. Akbari (Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, JAU, Junagadh), Dr. R. Subaiah (Department of Soil & Water Engg, College of Agricultural Engg & Technology, JAU, Junagadh) and Dr. P. B. Patel (Department of Veterinary Surgery & Radiology, College of Veterinary Science& Animal Husbandry, JAU, Junagadh).

Dr. K. C. Patel, Director, IT Cell and Mr. Jignesh Naliyapara, Computer Programmer were specially honoured for development of Online Accounting software for JAU.
