In beautiful morning of 17th January, the JAU campus became vibrant with students came for degrees in convocation. The campus was adorned on this grand auspicious function of prime activity, education, of JAU. HE Dr Kamlaji inaugurated Girls’ Hostel and Examination Hall of JAU. The convocation program started with welcome address of Dr NC Patel, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of JAU. In his Bird’s eye view glimpses of activities and achievements of JAU since 2004, remarkable multifaceted success in teaching, research and extension activities impressed the audience. Shri Babubhai Bokhiria, Minister of Agriculture, Cooperation, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Cow breeding and Water resources, Government of Gujarat appreciated achievements of JAU and highlighted the scope and challenges in agriculture sector in Gujarat. He gave an account of fascinating achievements in agricultural development of state supported with facts and figures. Dr KN Nag, former Vice Chancellor of Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner and Chief Guest of function delivered convocation address. He gave an account of food grain production and its need in future. He asked the scientists to be prepared for the climatic change in context with available natural resources of Gujarat state. Rich population of domestic livestock is an asset which can be made more productive thru qualitative feed and fodder and prevention and cure of diseases. He advised the Graduated to apply knowledge into action and bring more accuracy and perfection in given task which ultimately bring joy and happiness in life.
Dr Shrimati Kamlaji, HE Governor of Gujarat and Hon’ble Chancellor of University conferred degrees to Graduates and Post Graduate students of various Faculties of JAU. The Chancellor appreciated students for their academic Excellency and asked them to bring innovations in agriculture to serve the farming community. Dr RL Shiyani, Registrar, followed the prescribed Procedure of convocation. He also thanked dignitaries, members of Board Management and Board of studies of JAU, Government officials of Junagadh, Leaders, Media personnel, Guests and students of JAU.
