            Junagadh Agricultural University is situated in the heart of beautiful city of Junagadh, the campus is famously known as "Motibaug"   due to its lush green environment with variety of plant species. Junagadh is a historical city that has scripted its own story which is at the foot hills of Girnar Mountain. The University is carved out from Gujarat Agricultural University with four Universities on May 01, 2004. The University offers the perfect amalgamation of excellence academic, a reputed stake holder oriented research and extension, a supportive environment, dedicated manpower and a good location.

           Agricultural education is now a dynamic process with fast changing national and international scenario. Junagadh Agricultural University is also stepping upto the challenge to fulfil the demand of a renewed paradigm to facilitate and undertake human capacity building for developing self-motivated professionals and entrepreneurs in view of the changing scenario of globalized education. Imparting high quality Education is the top priority of the University by fostering the young talent with a package of integration of Science, Management and Agriculture for the service of the farming community. The worthy World Bank funded under NAHEP, ICAR Intuitional Development Plan bagged by Junagadh Agricultural University on the theme "Application of Artificial Intelligence, Robotic and Drone in Agriculture" is one of the forefront component of our keen action in direction of Falling into Step with changing scenario.

            Future agriculture will be dominated by looming dangers of food safety and insecurity originating from an unholy alliance of existing and emerging environmental, economic and social issues. Thirty one research stations of the University spread over 10 districts of Saurashtra are undertaking multidisciplinary, farmer centric, demand driven research to make the farmers fall into step with modern agricultural development. The Scientists are exploring the potential of the emerging new areas of specialization to fulfil the vision and mission of University by matching the upcoming technologies with local issues of farmers.

          Junagadh Agricultural University is the only University in India which provides subsidies in seeds to the farmers. The bio pesticides, bio control agents and liquid bio fertilizer developed by the University have very huge demand in farming community. The extensions activities through KVKs, research stations and departments are working keenly to provide research outcomes to the farmers. The use of   IT for extension activities like JAU Information Online App, Online weather update, iKisan FAQs, JAU YouTube channel as well as Junagadh Janvani 91.2 FM is proving valuable information to the farmers on their mobile. The state of art education museum "Krishi Darshnalay" has added new feather crown in extension component of University.
